I chose New Media Environments because I’m a hands-on learner. Many of the courses are project-based and we often work in groups. The experience has given me a glimpse of what it would be like to work on a design team. I also love the fact that the classes are small and that everyone is on a first-name basis with the instructors. It creates a very positive learning atmosphere.
Over the past 3 years, I have taken advantage of the many opportunities to volunteer and participate in extracurricular group activities. The peer support and connections I’ve made have been invaluable. I would highly recommend that all students get involved.
While the program is giving me the skill set to pursue a career in the film industry, animation, computer games and design, I have always enjoyed working with kids and feel that I can make a difference as a teacher. My goal is to apply what I have learnt and use technology to its full potential in the classroom.
