At MAMAS, we conduct theoretical and applied research into Artificial Intelligence (AI) in general, and Distributed Artificial Intelligence (DAI) in particular. Our expertise includes: Knowledge representation, decision making, agent architecture, agent communication protocols, automated negotiation. Our work is multidisciplinary and while strongly grounded in computer science and formal methods, it overlaps with cognitive sciences, philosophy of mind and philosophy of language, social psychology and economics.

Our group has strong links with leading international research teams and activities, as evident in joint projects and publications, as well as our participation in leading conferences and events. We also have growing links with creative industry, enabling us to create real-world impact with our research. In particular, we do apply or develop related technics in the field of Metacreation which aim to endow machines with creative behavior (whereas AI is about intelligent behavior).
