Save the date! Join us as SFU celebrates 25 years of TA/TM training! TA/TM Day addresses teaching and technological skills that are essential for you as a teaching assistant or tutor marker:
• your role and responsibilities as a TA, TM, or ITA
• academic integrity/honesty
• setting the right tone in your classes
• helping students in distress
• using technology in teaching
• creating an inclusive classroom
• evaluating student work fairly and efficiently
• facilitating effective tutorials
• improving students’ writing skills
• designing fail-proof lesson plans
• helping students think critically and work cooperatively
• strategies for student success and wellness
• tips for being a TA in the Sciences
• safeguarding your students privacy online
• helping your students become better researchers
Make plans to attend the 25th Annual Fall Semester TA/TM Day! Advance registration for the teaching orientation program is notrequired.
Remember: Your time at TA/TM Day counts toward your TA/TM work hours for the fall semester.
