Dr. Magy Seif El-Nasr (SIAT Assistant Professor) along with her future PhD student Veronica Zammitto (currently SIAT Master’s student) have received funding from MITACS in the amount of $15,000 to support Veronica working as an intern at Electronic Arts Canada (EA). The overall goal of the study is to look at user experience methods for evaluating sports games. Different techniques will be explored in terms of their efficiency, ability to automate them, and their value to the EA team.
Dr. Magy Seif El-Nasr (Collaborator) along with Dr. Suzanne deCastle (PI) were awarded a grant in the amount of $380,000 as part of a multi-million grant awarded to SRI International in collaboration with SFU (Suzanne (Lead) and Magy (Collaborator)) and York (Jennifer Jenson) from AFRL, USA. The overall goal of the project is to look at correlations between users' real world attributes, including culture, age, gender, etc. and their virtual world preferences and behavior (such as their avatar choices and play styles).
