Students who start in a program outside of SIAT at SFU need to meet the following requirements for admission into SIAT:
- Entry to the Interactive Arts and Technology program is competitive. Admission CGPA will fluctuate semester to semester based on number of applicants to number of seats available. For reference, the minimum CGPA for Fall 2011 admission was 2.70. CGPA requirement is subject to change. We encourage students with a 2.50 or higher to apply but we don't guarantee admission until a 2.70. You may find SFU's CGPA calculators to be useful in setting CGPA and course grade targets.
- At a minimum, 18 credits including the following, which must be completed at the time of application:
- Major/Joint Major:
- 18 units from the lower division core courses of: CMPT 166, MATH 130, MACM 101, IAT 100, 102, 103W, 106, 167, 201, 202, 206W, 222, 233, 235, 265, 267.
- Minor:
- 9 lower division IAT units from IAT 100, 102, 103W, 106, 167, 201, 202, 206W, 222, 233, 235, 265, 267.

APPLICATION DEADLINES
- For SPRING semester intake: October 15th.
- For SUMMER semester intake: February 15th.
- For FALL semester intake: June 15th.
No applications will be accepted after the deadline dates noted above. No exceptions.
SIAT will review applications only after the deadlines and will contact students directly to let them know whether they have been accepted into the program or not. This process will be completed prior to registration opening up for the intake semester. Submitting an application does not guarantee entrance into the SIAT program.
