SIAT is an emerging, energetic, community-centred ecosystem. We are growing a new kind of community of scholars – one based on collaboration between designers, technologists, artists and scientists.
Our state of the art facilities and equipment, 24/7 access, comprehensive library stocked with relevant materials, video gaming room, and experimental work in our research labs encourage everyone here to engage.
Our program started at Simon Fraser University’s Surrey campus in 2002. The Surrey campus is located in the metro-Vancouver area of British Columbia, Canada. Vancouver is a dynamic, multicultural city set in a spectacular natural environment. There are a wide range of recreational activities at your doorstep in the Metro Vancouver area including hiking, skiing, snowboarding, biking, sailing, kayaking and culture/ arts. The city has an excellent transportation system and the Skytrain makes the Surrey Campus of SFU easily accessible from many districts.
